There are days that I wonder what happened to me. I survey my house on a daily basis and muse at the dirty laundry, the food scattered around the high chair (didn't I just clean that up), the fingerprints on the mirrors and windows, the crumbs spread across the countertop, the piles of mail that seem to collect on my desk, and I think I must be living someone else's life.

In my "past" life (a.k.a. before kids) my house was always neat and tidy, everything had a home and lived there without protest, and the laundry never collected in the floor. I even worked some 50-60 hours a week at times and managed to do it all. Since then, I've added a husband, a step-daughter (who none too gently broke me in), and a baby to this wild life I live.

Each week brings on a diffent challenge for me to conquer, and I must say that I am glad for it. Even though some weeks are truly harder than others and I'm praying for the weekend, I would not change a thing. We are on this journey together, learning, laughing, loving, and playing hard. We can accept each others faults and flaws and laugh about how crazy we make each other. God has blessed me beyond measure and I LOVE my {nutty} life!

Original LO (Just Me)

This was the original LO before I modified it. (see previous post)

Just Me at 32

I modified my first LO this morning to comply with a scrap challenge. I only had to make a couple of changes to it. It was actually really coincidental as I haven't scrapped any pages about myself until last night. Then I stumbled on that challenge. Pretty cool.

I *heart* This Boy

LO (layout) I did of Shayne from a pic in Maui.

Sick Babies Make Me Sad

There really is nothing more saddening to me than a sick, helpless baby. Nalley has had a stomach virus for more than 24 hours now and can keep NOTHING down. This is her 2nd go of it, once while we were in Georgia in February. Shayne commented last night that it just doesn't seem fair that she's got it again. I agree and would gladly take it for her, but I can't!

It really pains me to see her so listless and hungry, yet so sick if she tries to eat. However, she will get over this in a day or two and be back to her nomal happy-go-lucky self. But there will still be millions of sick and dying kids right here and all over the world. Their parents will still have to cuddle and rock, dry tears and console, comfort and try to muster a smile for their little one's sake. My heart breaks for Nalley, but even more so for all of those babies fighting far worse illnesses than a stomach flu. And for the parents staying up nights, working overtime to pay medical bills, worrying their own health away, and doing ANYTHING necessary to make their kids better. I salute you, and I will pray for you. May God heal your child and comfort your soul!

Tea Anyone?

This is the birthday invitation that I did for Maybel's 8th birthday party. She is so excited about it. Wendy is going all out (as usual) and the girls should have lots of fun.

Photo Shoot!

My friend Jocelyne is a professional photographer and she shot these pictures of Nalley at her house the other day. I'm telling you, between Jocelyne's talent and Nalley's adorable little face (I am a bit biased...) the cute factor of these pictures is through the roof! I just LOVE them! Thanks Joce!

I saw this hilarious little "game" on a blog recently and I had to give it a go. So you can now call me any of these names and I'll answer, or at least I'll try to. There are so many, I hope I remember them all...

Your Real Name:

2. Your Gangsta Name: (first 4 letters of real name plus izzle:}

3. Your Detective Name: (fav color and fav animal)
Green Birdie

4. Your Soap Opera Name: (middle name, and childhood street)
Faire Stone-Haven

5. Your Star Wars Name: (the last 3 letters of your last name, first 2 letters of your first name, first 3 letters of mom’s maiden name)
Raykaham (I must be Chewbaka’s best friend!)

6. Your Super Hero Name: (2nd favorite color, favorite drink)
Pink Water (that doesn’t sound very powerful…)

7. Your Witness Protection Program Name: (grandmother/grandfather’s first name and Jones)Nora Jones (how funny is that…except the singer’s name is spelled “Norah”)

8. Your Goth name: (black, and the name of one your pets)

Wasn't that fun?

Bible Verses...Scrapped!

I have really wanted to read the Bible more lately. Finding that I "don't have time" to really dig into it like I did when I wasn't a mom, I wanted to incorporate some of "the Word" back into my life. So, I dedided to digi-scrap some scriptures and put them as art of the fridge so that my family and I can read and ponder as we pass by each day.

From there, I thought that it would probably be nice to share some of them with the girls in my mom's group, so I challenged them to e-mail me their favorite scripture (or one that has meant something to them), not telling them what my "little project" was. If you guys are reading this...then you now know my secret...ha! I have printed them each a set for their own fridge.

So, here they are:

I have not finished them all yet, but this is a start. I will post the rest as I finish them.

Mother's Day Rocked

I didn't change one diaper, or feed Nalley or have any responsibilites in regards to her other than to play and have fun! Shayne took over and was in charge of all needs in respect to the kids and gave me a day off (and it was GREAT)! I played with the girls and had so much fun with them, it was a great day.

Shayne and Nalley went out to ge me breakfast on Sunday morning. We relaxed and picked up Maybel for our dinner with Shayne's mom at Wu's on First, asian restaurant. It was a great day! My only regret...I did not get ONE picture with my girls on my first (official) Mother's Day. How sad is that for the scrapbook????

Here are some pictures of the mini albums I made for my mom and mother-in-law. I think they both really liked them, they were lots of fun to make! It is a hybrid project...I did my digi layouts on PSCS3 and printed them as matte photos at Costco, then adhered them to chipboard coasters, filed and sanded the edges, bound it with my Bind-it-All and then added lots of ribbons!

Today is our Anniversary...

and I forgot it!!!!! Well, I didn't completely forget it, we've been talking about it for a few weeks now ...ever since Shayne bought my gorgeous Tiffany bracelet while we were on vacation in Maui. He got an X-Box 360 from me, so we exchanged our gifts early. With that being said, at around 10 p.m. last night, Shayne came down stairs and cautiously said to me, "Honey, did you get me a card or anything for our anniversary tomorrow?" Duoh..." uuuhhh no", I said. "Good, good, good...cause I didn't either!", he replied.

Now, first of all, I never forget things like ANNIVERSARIES, well at least my own. And secondly, how could I possibly be upset with him because he didn't get me a card, when I forgot all about it too?!? I always thought that "Baby Brain" was just a pregnant woman's excuse to the world to let her revel in all the glories of having a baby. Little did I know that it is real, it is frustrating, and it doesn't end when you give birth...I'm starting to wonder if it goes away at all (please tell me it does)!

At any rate, I started thinking today about our slip-up with "forgetting" our anniversary. I was feeling pretty bad about it, but then I remembered that it isn't a card once a year that makes our marriage great, *and it is most of the time* it's how we treat each other day in and day out that keeps a couple together year after year. I'd do good to remember how well Shayne treats me everyday. The kind words he speaks, the way he's always telling me how beautiful I am (even right after I had Nalley), and the way he wants "get" stuff for me because he knows I want it...those are the things that make each day of our marriage special.

I hope I don't ever forget again, but I know that even if I do...the card that I bought from the store doesn't express the sentiment as well as the words I speak each day do. Today I'm celebrating the wonderful choice I made in a husband and what a great family we have!

Snow in MAY???

Oh yeah, just one more thing for SNOWED here yesterday! Who's ever heard of snow in MAY? Wait a minute, that's right, I'm in Canada now...goodbye *real* spring. To all my GA peeps, isn't it like already summer there? Yeah, that's what I thought...

And just so you all don't come rescue me and bring me back to the good old land of the BULLDOGS, it has melted, fortunately! However, if it happens again, well, that's it...i'm done!

What a Pain

I've been working almost all day (as much of all day as the mom of a 10 month old has) to try and get this blog template customized from 2 columns to 3 columns...and I'm ready to pull my hair out. I finally did it, THANK YOU JESUS...but I'm sure my hairdresser is going to have a hayday trying to cover the gray hairs that were amassed in the process.

Next up, to add all the custom backgrounds that I want to, but I honestly don't have any more brain cells left for it right now. Not to mention that I'm in the process of getting a website set up for Magnolia Designs, fun fun fun!

I'm off to bed, Nalley was up 3 times last night/early morning...could she possibly be teething...10 months and still no teeth! As my dad used to say, "Bedtime Bill", there's no one named Bill in our family...good night!

LO I did about the tough time we had with Maybel right after Nalley was born. Thankfully, they are best buds now and love to play together.

Turning 5

LO I did of Maybel's 5th birthday party, man do I have to catch up with my scrapbooking.

Berry Sweet Girl

LO of Nalley at 3 months.

I'm Recovering

From one crazy National Scrapbooking Day frenzy yesterday. My husband was just laughing at me all day, I had a Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte in one hand, and my mouse in the other. I was chatting at Designer Digitals on and off all day (scooping up all their AWESOME freebies), scrappin' a little here and there, and mostly make my credit card SMOKE with all of the great stuff i picked up on sale yesterday. Between Designer Digitals, Sweet Shoppe, Polka Dot Potato, and Little Dreamer Designs, I'm suprised I didn't get a phone call to check if it hadn't been stolen!!! What fun I had, and I can't wait to play with all my goodies.
