October Afternoon is on the way...

I am over the top excited about a new line that Magnolia Designs is carrying. I have ordered almost the entire line of October Afternoon papers for the store. They should be here in the next week or two. Just in time for my November Advent Calendar class on November 8th...the Good Cheer Christmas line, seen below, is to die for! The calendars will be adorable, I just can't wait.

All of the collections are simply gorgeous, too hard to pick one or two, so I got them all. I am positive that these papers will sell out super quick, they are so hot right now. I'm going to be greedy and keep a stash for myself too, so e-mail me early to get some.

Caffine, Anyone???

Things are crazy around here in true Murray fashion. Canadian Thanksgiving is fast approaching, which means my busy season is in full swing. I have a ton of pottery orders to work on, a class I'm teaching next week to prepare for, and half a dozen other projects that need to be finished, and I can't work on any of them right now! Why??? Because we are in the process of building a room in the basement for Maybel. Yay!!!!

It is such a blessing and such a curse all in the same breath. Finally, Nalley and Maybel will each have their own rooms. No more waking each other up in the middle of the night...no more sharing closet space, and drawer space, and everything space! But it is all happening at a very busy time for us...well, for me anyway! I am totally not complaining about all of the wonderful things that are going on, I just wish I had a few more of those pre-pregnancy, fully-functional brain cells hanging around to help me be more organized and scheduled.
I did the make-up for a beautiful wedding yesterday and the bride was so organized, and had a schedule for everything, and the morning went smoothly and completely on schedule. It was wonderful to have a few hours of serenity and total bliss. It was such a great atmosphere to be in. No one was anxious or uptight, and everything went very smoothly, at least while I was there. It made me painfully aware of how chaotic the rest of my life is right now. I am very eager to get this reno project finished and get our house put back together again with everyone in their new spaces. It will be fantastic.
Right now, these are the things that are keeping me happy and [somewhat] sane...

I'm curious...

to know who my 5 or 6 blog readers are, as Dusti would say. I see these places on my Feed List and wonder how you found my blog and if I know you or not. It doesn't matter to me, I read lots of blogs of people I don't know. Those who do know me will know that my philosophy is "the more the merrier". I have gained several friends via the internet, and I'm blessed in so many ways for them being in my life. So....I am going to give out a little blog candy...haven't yet decided what it will be, but it will be fun! Could be pottery, could be some scrapbooking supplies, could be something sewn, who know, I'm just that kinda girl! Leave me a little love and who you are, where you're from and I'll do the random generated thing, or maybe i'll just get Maybel or Nalley to pick...you never know. I'm interested to see if more than just Laura, Lisa, Dusti, Kellee, and Valarie are reading!!!

Altered Tin Class

I am teaching an altered tin class on October 9th, hosted by River East Transcona School Division Teacher's Association. My friend and neighbor, Liz, is helping me head this up. She works in the school division and is the newest hottie librarian on the scene (no granny bun, bi-focal wearin' going on in that school)!!

Attendance is open if you are local and would like to come. Pre-registration is required and space is limited, so e-mail me to reserve a spot.

Your Vocabulary Grows

Feeding the Geese

It is sad to say that it is that time of year again. The geese gather by the 100's around the local ponds to eat their last few meals here in the Great White North before making the pilgramage back South for the winter. I wish I could fly with them, especially this year. It has been a wonderful summer with the girls and we have relished every last minute of the beautiful weather. I am not eager to say goodbye to the summer just yet. Tomorrow marks the Autumnal Equinox and we must officially say goodbye. I have historically always loved fall as well, it means college football, chili and apple pie to me. And although I can still enjoy all of those things right here in the 'Peg, it just isn't the same. Fall is almost a blip here, barely enough days of that lovely *crisp* fall air to even mention. It mostly just turns straight into "freakin' freezin'" and then I'm chilled to the bone for another solid 6-7 months.

Here are some super cute pictures I took of the girls feeding the geese at the pond just a few blocks from us. Shayne and I enjoyed watching the girls toss little bits of leftover bread to the geese. They were some pretty bold geese to get so close. Maybel thought it was cool and Nalley was a little apprehensive at first, then she just started laughing at them. We all had fun!

i love my iPod

I did this LO playing around with some different techniques to get a "graphic" feel. It's not my usual style, but I like how it turned out. I only used 2 digi scrapbooking items in it: Paper from Laura's One Hit Kit at Polka Dot Potato & Shabby Borders from The Shabby Shoppe.

Random-ness and Catching Up...

These days it seems like I'm always trying to play catch up...with house work, with phone calls and e-mails, with blog posts, you name it. Today is no exception, but I'm actually marking some things off of my list. Well, house work is always last on the list because it seems like even when I do get it done, it's messy again in 5 minutes, so really, what's the point? Man, how things change when you have kids, it still drives me CRAZY to have a messy, cluttered house, but get in line...lots of other things come first. Like playing with my two adorable, stinkin' cutest-ever kids in the whole wide world...and another one that was at my house today...Joshua! Nalley and I picked up Josh (Maybel's little brother) from pre-school because Deidre had an appointment. He came back and played with us all afternoon...we had lots of fun.

Speaking of Josh, Maybel and Nalley...here are some pictures that I took of Maybel's first day of Grade 3 and Josh's first day of pre-school last Wednesday. (Yes, it has taken me a week to get the pictures out of the camera.) We had such high hopes of getting some great pictures of the kids together, but they had other plans. No one, except for the camera ham Maybel, wanted to be photographed that morning...so this is what we got...

So, Diedre and I just resorted to some silliness...we obviously weren't going to get any other willing participants.
We starting getting scared when Joshua pulled out a gun (thank goodness it was a toy...whew).

One more try at the two girls together...but, nope...no dice...
In other random busyness (and FUN-ness) I went and "played" at my buddy Lisa's house last night and had much fun with her *as usual*! We laughed our butts off talking about all sorts of sillyness...and now we know that Sally does Sound Off. What a great joy it is to have friends that you can be happy and light-hearted with. I am thankful for all of my friends and the support we have given and gotten from each other through all of life's stuff, friends really are a treasure!!!
I also had the great pleasure of meeting my friend Jocelyne's precious new daughter, Kendalyn, on Monday night. Jocelyne is super woman, delivering both of her girls frank breech, or butt first. Can you imagine...well, I'm sure some of you have imagined, but holy cow...talk about some pain. Kendalyn is the cutest little bundle ever, and her big sister Emily is so proud. I'll post some pictures of the newest addition when I get them from her photographer mommy.
Nalley and I went to my friend Sandra's house today for her son's 3rd birthday party. Nalley adores all 3 of Sandra's kids. Anabel is 5, Charles turned 3 today, and Molly is 2 months older than Nalley. They all play so well together and it is such a joy to watch them interact. His party was a play-doh theme and it was Nalley's first experience with the fun, squishy, colorful goop...she was over the top.
Sandra is taking me to the Neil Diamond concert on Sunday night. She has box seats and was kind enough to ask me to go with her. Shayne is so upset that we are going because he has ALWAYS wanted to go to the Neil Diamond concert...and we have box seats to boot...isn't that just a kick in the pants.
Well, this has been one extremely LOOONG post to catch up...I think I've done just that. Now, off to catch up on some sleep that I missed last night, out scrappin' till midnight with Lisa... poor Ella, Ben and Charlie, slept through all of our howling laughter...

Summer Lovin'

This is the first Layout I created using the Summer Lovin' kit by the lovely and talented Shauna Burke-Smith of Pineapple Plantation Designs...(aka the Pineapple Queen to us "tidbits" on her creative team)! I was so excited to use this kit, I just love it. I reworked this LO until 1 in the morning last night and still wasn't satisfied. I kept getting interupted and I couldn't give it my full attention...so I continued on it after the kids were in bed tonight... I'm happy with it now.

All you digi-scrappers should head over to the Scrap Orchard and pick up some of Shauna's really cool stuff... TFL!!!
