Here are the details if you want to contribute: we are collecting pinwheel blocks in any color way in a 8.5 inch block. (I'm excited about that because it will challenge me to do something I've never done before...a pinwheel!) If you are so inclined (and I hope you are), you can also make a whole quilt in a small (and do-able) size, 24x36 inches in ANY pattern and colorway. And now for the fun part...the giveaways...(mine aren't nearly as great as Amber's, but nonetheless) 1 block will enter you 1 time, 2 blocks 2 times, etc...and a whole quilt will get you 10 entries. These are the giveaways: (1st) a cute little clutch like this made from a Keyka Lou pattern with the winners choice of colors, (2nd) a fun ruffle apron (which I designed the pattern for last year) to be sewn for the winner with their preferrence of colors, (3rd) I will make a custom mini badge album scrapbook with the winners pictures using a Shabby Princess badge album.
Who IS that cheesy chick modeling my well-worn apron? As Amber said, it is tough to put a deadline on such a great project, but it is necessary to do so for the sake of the giveaways. So, all the blocks need to be in by May 1st. If you would like to donate to our quilts for the babies in the IMCU, please leave a comment here and I'll send you my address via e-mail (I am in Canda) or if you would rather send them to Amber in the US, e-mail her and she will forward them all on to me. Thanks again for your enthusiasm for this project, your generosity and time, it means so very much to us!

Wow! Another modern quilter in Winnipeg!!! I'd love to help out with this challenge. At this point, I think all I can committ to is a block (I've never done a pinwheel either).
Oh Andrea, wonderful, thanks! I take it you are in Winnipeg too? Send me an e-mail and I can give you my address, or if you are in town, we can meet up so I can get the block! Thanks again!
I will make some blocks for you. I'm not sure how many, but it will be more than 2. I love to make pinwheel blocks!
Hi Kathy, I'll make you a block or two, having just finished my last charity blocks. May 1st is so soon... Send me the address to mail them to. My e-mail should be attached.
Hi: I already make quilts for IMCU, so I'd be happy to contribute. I have one ready now, and I'll try for some more. I also live in Winnipeg. (and hey, with record-setting temperatures, I don't think you can call it Winterpeg right now!:)
I would love to help but I am over here in the land of Oz!! The first of May is a bit too soon (sometimes the mail takes a couple of weeks).
Send me an email and I will endeavour to get them done in the next week and send them off a.s.a.p.
I love pinwheel blocks!!
Finally a Canadian Charity! Hooray!! I'll be sending you something by May 1st!
I love this idea! I had a baby girl 7 weeks ago (she was 7 weeks early). Virginia stayed in NICU for 15 days. As a result of the wonderful care and nurses, I've started volunteering with the hospital's auxiliary group (current efforts are raising funds for NICU).
I'm going to try to whip up a few pinwheel blocks to send to you.
Great cause. I will be sending some blocks and quilts your way also.
I am pleased to participate in a Canadian charity!
I commented on one shabby chic's blog, but I'll make some too. :-)
Love the idea. Will and try to finish a quilt, if not I will send a few blocks. Great to find more local quilters.
